At the checkpoint, you’ll find everything you need for a truly great experience:

Food freshly prepared on site by Ånn Wheels
A gathering place with an open fire and shelter, perfect for socializing and sharing stories with fellow dog drivers
Tent spots for your whole team in a stunning mountain setting
Prefer to stay indoors (tourclass or visitors)? Karolinergården is just nearby and ready to welcome you

On site you’ll also find an experienced judge and veterinarian, making sure everything runs smoothly and happily answering your questions.

The checkpoint is the heart of Åredraget, a place where community, safety, and the mountain landscape come together. Come and feel the atmosphere, meet new friends, and enjoy everything that makes this event more than just a race.

Organized by Sven and Trude Wirèn with Jämtlandsfjället's sled dog club behind them.

Between the years 1978-1999, Åredraget took off and was then Sweden's largest dog competition. The competition attracted both Norwegian and Swedish participants, and at most there were 500 dogs at the start. The competition already arranged the classes Nordic style and sled class.

Now we have shaken up the competition again and today we have participants from seven different countries and offer both competition class in sled and sledge as well as tour class and now also junior class!
